My name is Jade chouin,
I'm a children's Language and Learning Skills tutor with more than a decade of experience helping students thrive in the world of tomorrow.

Education & Why I do what I do

Growing up in London, I attended a reputable French school, but my academic journey was not without its challenges. I was determined to understand the glitches in my education, which led me to pursue studies in Child & Educational Psychology and Childcare. I continued to expand my knowledge by delving into the works of cognitive neuroscientists, linguists, psychologists, and innovative educators such as Stanislas Deheane, Dr. Barbara Oakley, Howard Gardner, and Sir Ken Robinson. Their findings have helped me shed light on why traditional teaching methods are ineffective for many, and have emphasised the importance of innovative teaching approaches.

Language teaching & Other experiences

Throughout my career, I’ve had the pleasure of holding various teaching positions around the world, with a particular focus on bilingual settings. My experience includes roles as an Early Years practitioner and manager for foreign language nursery schools in London and Barcelona, a French governess to UHNW families, a volunteer working with vulnerable children in the UK and refugees in Greece, and most recently, a special educational needs’ coordinator in a bilingual primary school in London. These diverse experiences have provided me with the skills to understand  students of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

My teaching philosophy

Predominantly, my experience has taught me that a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work. As a result, I view every student as an exciting learning opportunity, with the cornerstone being the establishment of a relationship that makes them feel valued. I derive genuine joy from creating tailored and engaging content, problem-solving, and building those connections. Each lesson becomes an opportunity to simplify intricate concepts, craft relatable activities, and design games that facilitate effortless learning. Whether I’m teaching languages, learning skills and different age groups, my goal remains the same: to make learning enjoyable and effective by catering to the unique needs and abilities of each student.
